Dentistry Asleep

Relax With Us

Nervous about dentistry? You shouldn't be! Neglecting your dental care can lead to serious problems with NOT ONLY your oral health BUT ALSO YOUR OVERALL HEALTH. If anxiety has caused you to forgo a trip to the dentist, we invite you to contact us and discuss how DENTAL CARE ASLEEP at Sheridan Dental in Mississauga can help you feel more comfortable during your dental visit.

Different people have varying levels of anxiety towards dentistry and as such, Sheridan Dental provides several options to help make your dental appointment as comfortable as possible. First off, Dr. Alex Tang can provide Nitrous Oxide & Oxygen for those who are slightly anxious but not overly nervous about dental treatment. If Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen is not strong enough to relieve your anxiety, then you may be a candidate for IV sedation.

Dr. Michelle Tang, our dentist anaesthesiologist, provides all levels of sedation and general anaesthesia to patients who are suitable to be treated in an out-patient anaesthesia clinic. IV sedation can be light, moderate or deep, depending on how nervous you are. If you prefer a light to moderate sedation, you may drift in and out of sleep but you would be relaxed during the appointment. If you prefer a deeper sedation, you would most likely sleep throughout the dental treatment and not remember much about the appointment. The last option available is general anaesthesia and this would render you asleep for the entire procedure.
